Riding, Cranking, and Pinning Fundamentals

Riding, Cranking, and Pinning Fundamentals Wrestling has a number of things it does particularly well in the same way jiu jitsu has outstanding submissions. Wrestlers learn important principles of control while on top that elude many martial artists without such training. These principles are excellent supplements to the traditional jiu jitsu tactics and strategies that will broaden your armamentarium and your conceptual understanding of controlling your opponent. In this module, a discussion and demonstration of wrestling riding is done with the goal of teaching the principles of control in that endeavor to assist you in integrating these important principles into your martial arts, particularly if your training has involved mostly emphasis on softer, smoother, give-and-take movements. Bruce Lee said the flexible willow tree can withstand some windstorms that the unyielding oak tree cannot. However, the oak is stronger, generally. Likewise, the ebb and tide of jiu jitsu movements and technique is well supplemented by the more aggressive and leverage oriented approach of wrestling riding, cranking, and pinning. In addition to two traditional riding positions and pinning techniques to assist in mounting, I will discuss and demonstrate an unorthodox "high" riding technique that is both very effective for controlling your opponent and smoothly transitioning to submission grappling and MMA techniques.

For administrative purposes, the date of 12/28/2005 is listed below for "Available Soon" modules. I will be completing the editing and authoring of the modules in the order they are listed on the Products page and anticipate most of the series to be completed by the end of the summer or early fall. As I get close to completing each module, I will replace the availability date to inform customers. Please check the website every couple of weeks!
